Mayor Joe Petty

Mayor Joe Petty has fought back a challenge from Michael Gaffney and Bill Coleman to hold the Mayor's office for another two-year term.

The win by Petty is a re-affirmation of the team of Congressman Jim McGovern, City Manager Ed Augustus (former staffer to McGovern) and Petty. McGovern campaigned aggressively for Petty.
