Monday, February 15, 2016
On Wednesday last week a 45 year and her 7 year-old child were the victim of two two men carrying knifes. Worcester Police responded to a Mower Street home for a reported home invasion. The two males demanded money and other valuables.
The male suspects had prior knowledge that there was a handgun in the home. The suspects demanded that they have the gun. The weapon was handed over to the suspects along with ammunition. The victim was escorted into the bathroom and secured. At this time the suspects searched the home and took a cellphone and cash.
After the suspects left the home the victim was able to climb out the bathroom window and run back into the house to check on her sleeping 7-year-old child. The child slept through the ordeal. The victim ran to a neighbor’s home and contacted police.
The victim reported no injuries to her or her child.
The suspects were described at two Hispanic males, both light complexion, both to be late teens and both wearing hooded sweatshirts and jeans.
Investigators believe that this was not a random incident.
Worcester Police responded to 30 Wellington Street for a second home invasion last Wednesday. The property is a high rise apartment complex owned and managed by the Worcester Housing Authority.

The man escorted her to the bathroom and stated that he had a gun. No weapon was seen. One of the men stayed in the bathroom with the victim while the second perpetrator searched the apartment.
