The Worcester School Department has canceled classes and all other activities on Monday, March 21.
Before and after school activities and programs are also canceled. The Durkin Administration Building will be open. It is unclear why schools were closed more than 12 hours after the City of Worcester announced that a parking ban would go into effect on Sunday night and into Monday.
Questions have been raised previously about the lack of coordination and how school could be held if there is a parking ban as many schools do not have available parking for all faculty, staff, and at the high schools, for driving students.
