Worcester Woman Slashed in the Face, Arrest Made

Worcester police were dispatched to the area of 927 Main Street for a report of a fight.
Upon arrival, officers met with a 37-year-old female who was suffering from a slash below her eye and lacerations to her hands. She was transported to a local hospital and was treated for injuries which were non-life threatening.
During the investigation, police learned that the stabbing occurred when the victim engaged in a physical altercation with another female outside Bethel Market on Main Street. The female suspect pulled out a knife and slashed the victim.
Officers received a detailed description of the suspect and found her walking on Main Street near Ripley Street. The suspect in the assault was identified as 33-year-old Rebecca Hersh of Worcester.
Hersh, 33, of 8 Courtland Street, Worcester was charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
