Auburn Chamber of Commerce to Sponsor Town-Wide Clean-Up Day

On Saturday May 2, the Auburn Chamber of Commerce will host its "Town-Wide Clean-Up Day." The Clean-Up Committee is looking for volunteers from local clubs and organizations, youth groups, students and residents to help clean up Auburn.

The committee, co-chaired by Chief Steve Coleman and retired Fire Chief Roger Belhumeur, is asking interested parties to register online at Auburnchamberma.com. The first 250 volunteers will receive a FREE Clean-Up Staff T-shirt, courtesy of Hometown Bank.

The event will run from 7:30 AM to  10:30 AM and volunteers are asked to report to the Auburn Fire Station by 7:30 AM to receive clean-up assignments and supplies.

Republic Service/Allied Waste will take any METAL items to recycle.  There will be a dumpster at the Fire Station the morning of the event.  Items need to be FULL METAL ONLY (Examples; lawn mowers, washers & dryers, bicycles, snow blowers, etc.)  Please note that any fluid will need to be drained from these items prior to drop-off.

Hometown Bank will hold a Free Community Shredder Day at their Heritage Plaza location 569 Southbridge St., Auburn from 9 AM  to 12 PM. Shred up to 3 boxes of confidential documents in the on-site SHRED-IT truck.

Interstate All Battery Center will be taking OLD BATTERIES for proper disposal at the Auburn Fire Station.  All forms of batteries will be taken,WITH THE EXCEPTION OF NON-RECHARGEABLE ALKALINE BATTERIES.
