Auburn Man Arrested After Operating Dirt Bike on City Street

Torres will be arraigned on Monday, June 6 at the Worcester County District Court.
The Incident
On Friday, members of the off-highway vehicles task force were patrolling the area of Providence Street in an unmarked police vehicle.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., officers in the area of 160 Providence Street when they observed a red Honda dirt bike being operated on the road in the opposite direction. The officers made a u-turn and observed the dirt bike drive into an Xtra Mart. The operator, Torres, drove up to the gas pumps. Officers pulled into the gas station and parked their car right behind the dirt bike.
Officers exited the cruiser and approached Torres who initially tried to get back on the bike before deciding not to do so.
Torres was operating the dirt bike on a public street with a suspended license and was placed under arrest.
The bike was confiscated and towed to a local tow yard and will be held until proper ownership can be provided by Torres.
