Biancheria Wants Expert to Link Cameras from North to Worcester PD
Tuesday, April 07, 2015
As GoLocal reported last week, the Worcester Police Department obtained a license to connect North to the WPD Real-Time Crime Center on March 3. According to sources, they are only waiting on approval from Superintendent Dr. Melinda Boone to give the green light to link the cameras.
On March 10, GoLocal received a statement from the Superintendent's office regarding the cameras. The statement read "The cameras are already in the schools as well as the ability to monitor them onsite. The costs associated with linking with the Real Time Crime Center, as well as any legal considerations, are still being analyzed.”
Last week, GoLocal followed up with the Superintendent's office asking whether or not the legal considerations have been analyzed. A second response from Dr. Boone's office stated that the school department was "still working it out with legal council."
