BREAKING: Gov Patrick Closes Down Boston While Surviving Marathon Bomber At Large

Friday, April 19, 2013

Governor Deval Patrick has asked all Boston area residents to remain indoors during a massive manhunt for Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, a 19-year-old who had been living in Cambridge, Mass.

"We've had a rapidly developing situation," Patrick said. "Suspect 1 is dead. Suspect 2 is on the run," he said. "There is a massive manhunt underway, a lot of law enforcement. To assist that, we have suspended service on the MBTA. We are asking people to stay indoors with the door locked and do not open for anyone other than a law officer."

Authorities urged residents in Watertown, Newton, Arlington, Waltham, Belmont, Cambridge and the Allston-Brighton neighborhoods of Boston to stay indoors. The MBTA and Amtrak has been closed, as well as Boston area colleges. Taxi service has also been suspended.
