Brockton Man Stabbed Twice in Worcester

Sunday, August 13, 2017

A man was stabbed twice in the area of Chatham and Oxford Streets late Thursday night.

Worcester Police found the man, 24, on the steps of a church in the area.

Police say it is “unclear how the victim received the stab wounds.”

The Incident

On Thursday, August 10 at about 11:27 p.m., police were sent to the intersection of Chatham and Oxford streets for a report of a stabbing. Several officers assigned to the Summer Impact Program were first on the scene. The victim, a 24 year old Brockton man, was found on the steps of a church in the area. He was being treated by paramedics when the officers arrived.

The victim suffered stab wounds to his stomach and arm, and his injuries are considered non-life threatening. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The investigation is in its early stages, and at this time it is unclear how the victim received the stab wounds. The victim was apparently visiting a family member when the stabbing occurred.

The investigation is ongoing. If anyone has any information about this incident they can send an anonymous text to 274637 TIPWPD + your message or send an anonymous web based message by clicking here.
