A Conversation with Wendy Davidson
SW: What is the best thing about your job? Your life?
WD: I love to inspire people to live their lives in alignment with what matters most to them. Through my work I am able to learn what is most important to each client and help them achieve their goals through financial planning. It brings me great joy to see their progress. In terms of my life, I am so blessed to have a wonderful family and loving friends.
SW: Can you describe a day in your life?
WD: I feel so fortunate that every day is unique. Some days are full of client meetings and others I spend helping professionals such as attorneys and accountants with respect to their clients’ finances. Outside of work, yoga and meditation are part of my daily routine. I am very blessed to have a career that is my dream job. I get to go to work every day and do what I love.
SW: What is your favorite movie and why?
WD: There are far too many fantastic films to select just one but I do enjoy a good love or coming of age story.
SW: What music do you listen to?
WD: My music taste is quite broad but I love songs that are inspirational and make me want to move. I find myself turning up the volume on hip hop.
SW: What is your favorite social networking site and why?
Facebook. I think it amazing to be able to go to one place and see people you know from all facets of your life. Being able to catch up instantly or see what they are up to is incredible.
SW: What do you do away from your career?
WD: I practice yoga and meditation daily, love to play tennis, hike, and walk in nature. I enjoy dining with friends and, of course, love to spend time with my mini dachshunds Brady and Scarlette.
SW: Are you involved in the community? If so, how?
WD: I am a volunteer with the Center for Women & Enterprise in Worcester. In addition, I volunteer with the Career Services department at my alma mater, St. Lawrence University.
SW: Who or what is the biggest influence in your life?
WD: The most valuable lessons I have learned were taught to me by my father. He instilled in me integrity, a business mind, work ethic, and my moral compass. From the time I was a young girl, he would take me to work with him. He showed me what matters the most is how you behave when people aren’t looking. I live my life by this principle, thank you Dad!
SW: What is a fun fact few people know about you?
WD: The first metropolitan city I lived in was London followed by New York City.
SW: What's your favorite quote?
WD: "Be the change you wish to see in the world." – Gandhi
SW: What do you think creates success?
WD: I think success is created by a combination of spiritual, physical, emotional, and professional wellness that occurs when one lives their life in alignment with their true values.
SW: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
WD: My hope is that I am happy, healthy, and surrounded by those I love. My wish is that I am living as my best self.
