Nipmuc Regional High School's excellent MCAS and SAT scores helped them take the 11th spot on GoLocalWorcester's list of top Central Massachusetts high schools.

School Statistics

The MCAS and SAT scores were above state averages. 96% of Nipmuc Regional High students were proficient or higher in English. The graduation rate for the school was also very high at 93.8%. The school is spending less per student than the state average of $13,704. Nipmuc is spending $10,491. This Upton school recently got a state grant, which has allowed them grow their AP program. They are adding another AP course this year.

Business-Minded Students

John Clements, Nipmuc Regional High School's principal, said, "We have a tremendously strong DECA program with 160 students participating in the program. It provides students with training in business, management and marketing. So we have a number of business-minded students."

Celebrating the Arts

Clements told GoLocalWorcester that last year their art program was awarded with the College Board’s Award for Excellence and Innovation in the Arts.  He said it was the only school in New England given that award. Clements said, "If you walk the halls of the school you would see artwork by students on display. It is a real tribute to the department.
