Culture Vulture will shine a weekly spotlight highlighting one of the many diverse cultural opportunities.

The Passion! The Romance! Te Amo, Argentina!

Looking to turn up the heat on a cold autumn night? Come experience the passion and spectacle of Te Amo, Argentina (I Love you, Argentina) on the grand stage at The Center at Eagle Hill in Hardwick on Friday, November 15, 2013. An exotic audio-visual journey, Te Amo, Argentina draws audiences into the heart of Argentina and its fascinating, diverse culture. This multimedia performance features one of the top tango couples in the world, Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo, acclaimed stars of Broadway's ForeverTango, NBC's Superstars of Dance, and Fox's So You Think You Can Dance.

Trained in ballet, jazz, stage, and social tango, both dancers have an international reputation as instructors, performers, and choreographers of Argentine tango, and now they are sharing their mastery, passion, and magic with Massachusetts. Larici is famous as the iconic image of the Broadway and London hit ForeverTango, while Barrionuevo was a cast member of ForeverTango and danced at the most famous tango shows in Buenos Aires. Jazz and tango dancing combined with classical ballet movements add to the magic of the performance as two of Argentine tango’s finest artists craft a sensual and inspiring love letter to dance and to their home country.

Te Amo, Argentina will feature renowned cellist Antonio Lysy as well as the esteemed Borromeo String Quartet, which has been redefining the classical music landscape by using computers that enable each musician to perform the entirety of four-part scores instead of individual parts. From the Amerindian rhythms of the Andes mountains to the street cafés of Buenos Aires, Te Amo Argentina weaves together a pulsating and inspiring homage to Argentina.

According to the director of The Center, Paul Overton, “Larici and Barrionuevo light the floor on fire while still being very intimate and personal. Their relationship just shines through. We are so excited to be expanding our offerings and bringing international artists to Hardwick. We have tried to remove all barriers between audiences and art by making our theater a true community space with reasonable ticket prices and free parking.”

The Center’s state of the art performance center is the perfect setting for this multimedia event featuring fascinating music, beautiful dancing, and sumptuous images. One of the area’s cultural gems, The Center at Eagle Hill is “a place to discover music, dance, theater, and artists of every discipline in the most beautiful setting in Central Massachusetts.”

Te Amo, Argentina will be performed on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 7:30pm in the Abby Theater located at 242 Old Petersham Road in Hardwick, MA. Tickets are $35/30. To purchase tickets, visit centerateaglehill.org. For more information, call (413) 477-6746.
