City of Worcester to Honor Veterans on Memorial Day

The City of Worcester is inviting the public to honor those who served by attending Memorial Day acitivities on Sunday and Monday.

The Worcester Veterans' Council and The City of Worcester Office of the City Manager and the Veterans' Service Department are inviting the entire community to attend these scheduled events:

- Sunday, May 24:  Water Ceremony, Elm Park - 2 PM

Registration for the event begins at 1:15 p.m. at the corner of Russell and Highland Streets.

- Monday, May 25: 128th Memorial Day Observance Remembrance Ceremony, Hope Cemetery - 9 AM

Participants will gather at 8:45 a.m. inside the main gate for a short procession to the Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.) veterans' section (#45).

- Monday, May 25: Wreath Laying Ceremony, Massachusetts Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Green Hill Park - 11 AM

The Wreath Laying Ceremony is sponsored by the Perpetual Care Committee of the Memorial.
