FBI Won’t Confirm or Deny Investigation into Worcester Man Found in Trash Barrel
Tuesday, July 21, 2015
FBI Public Affairs Specialist Kristen Setera told GoLocalWorcester, "Due to our policy, we can neither confirm nor deny the existence of an ongoing investigation."
As GoLocalWorcester reported earlier this month, Beshai was found on July 23, 2014. He died four days later on July 27.
The above photo, which Beshai's brother Frank Beshai released on his Facebook page a few weeks ago, was taken by Rafael Quinones, who saw David Beshai’s legs sticking out of the trash can and kicking while he was driving down Main Street. By the time Quinones got to him, Beshai was unresponsive. Quinones called 911 and then took the picture.
Frank Beshai has been actively looking for answers and seeking responses from the Worcester Police Department and the FBI. According to Beshai, “I called the FBI because it could have been a hate crime, my brother was a gay man and many people didn't like it. The FBI said they had to wait on the Worcester police and they have done nothing.”
Beshai told GoLocalWorcester that he spoke with someone at the FBI that attempted to get information from the Worcester PD. “He said they basically gave them nothing,” Beshai said. “He said if they had given him something and if he could put his finger down on something then he could take the case away from them."
GoLocalWorcester has requested all information regarding David’s case and, like Frank Beshai, are still waiting for a response from the WPD.
