NEW: Body Found Thought to be Missing Worcester Man

Tuesday, April 03, 2012

Police in Providence, RI have found a body presumed to be that of a 19-year old Worcester man.

The body was discovered near the apartment of the two suspects charged in his disappearance, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. Officials now presume that Joseph P. Webster, reported missing on March 13th by his family, is the body they uncovered in a storage container on Wesleyan Avenue in Providence.

The Rhode Island State Police K-9 unit discovered the body, and the state’s Chief Medical Examiner will now conduct an autopsy. Webster’s last known whereabouts was the Motel 6 on Route 9 in Northborough.

“We hope that the extended Webster family can bring their son home,” Early said. “We are still investigating the case and may bring further charges soon.”

The two suspects in question are Lara Cori, 22, and James Howze, 19, both of Providence. The two were arraigned yesterday in Worcester on charges connected to Webster’s disappearance. Investigators determined the victim and the two suspects were together in a room at the Motel 6, and that room has been searched with evidence seized.

The two suspects fled to Colonie, NY, but were apprehended. They returned to Worcester this week to face the charges.
