NEW: Gas Up 8 Cents in Massachusetts Over Last Week

Statewide prices are up 8 cents this week. An April 9 survey of gas prices in the state revealed an average, per-gallon price of $3.87 for self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline. The price is 8 cents more than last week and 16 cents more than a month ago.
The good news is that price is 5 cents below the national average of $3.92 for self-serve, regular unleaded. The bad news is last year at this time in Massachusetts, a gallon cost $3.63.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 27 cents, from a low of $3.72 to a high of $3.99.

$3.87 ($3.729-$3.999) Regular Unleaded
$4.01 ($3.829-$4.199) Midgrade Unleaded
$4.13 ($3.929-$4.399) Premium Unleaded
$4.20 ($4.099-$4.379) Diesel
