Harvard’s Gonzales to Speak About Undocumented Immigrants at Clark

Harvard Graduate School of Education assistant professor Roberto Gonzales will give a lecture at Clark University titled “Lives in Limbo: Undocumented and Coming of Age in America.”

The lecture will take place on Friday, April 14 and is free and open to the public.

Gonzales is an assistant professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

His book, “Lives in Limbo: Undocumented and Coming of Age in America” is based on an in-depth study that followed 150 undocumented young adults in Los Angeles for 12 years to expose the failures of a system that integrates children into K-12 schools but denies them the rewards of their work.

Gonzales' National UnDACAmented Research Project has surveyed almost 2,700 undocumented young adults and carried out 500 in-depth interviews on their experiences following President Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

His work has been featured in top social science journals as well as in the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, TIME magazine, U.S. News & World Report, and The Chronicle of Higher Education.
