MA Summit to Look at Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Juvenile Detention

The conference will take place on Tuesday, October 25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel on 400 Computer Drive in Westborough.
The conference will include Honorable Amy L. Nechtem, Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Juvenile Court, Bethany Johnson-Javois, MSW Former Managing Director of the Ferguson Commission, Commissioner Peter J. Forbes, Department of Youth Services, Stakeholders from the juvenile court, police departments, Probation, Department of Public Health, and the Department of Mental Health.
Topics for discussion during the conference include:

- Law Enforcement and Best Practices with Youth
- JDAI Fundamentals
- Video and discussion on Racial & Ethnic Disparities, Watch a preview of 'Seeing RED'
The conference will also provide a first time screening of seeing RED (Racial and Ethnic Disparities,) a film that explores how the criminal justice system disproportionally impacts youth of color.
