Eleven plaintiffs filed a civil suit against Attorney General Maura Healey and Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin claiming the nature of the End Common Core Referendum was illegal.
The plaintiffs have charged in two counts that Healey approved a petition that "is not written in the proper form for submission to the people" and "the petition contains subjects that are not related or mutually dependent."
End Common core MA Chairman Donna Colorio said "they already tried to stop this last summer and they failed. Now they are bring to tie this matter up in court and deny citizens the right to vote on this important question."
End Common Core Massachusetts
End Common Core Massachusetts is a ballot question committee of citizen activists, teachers, parents, concerned citizens, and elected officials opposed to Common Core Standards.
They delivered more than 80,000 certified signatures for their initiative ballot question to bring back the state's pre-common core educational standards that existed in 2010.
