MA State Auditor Bump to Speak at Clark University

Massachusetts State Auditor Suzanne Bump will titled “Holding Government Accountable” at The Mosakowski Institute for Public Enterprise at Clark University.

The lecture will take place on Wednesday, October 26 at 11 a.m. in the Lurie Conference Room of Higgins University Center.

“Everybody believes that government should be efficient, honest, and transparent. But achieving these goals is a challenge, especially for a $40 billion enterprise like the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Auditor Bump will be sharing her experiences as the state’s chief fiscal watchdog,” said Mosakowski Institute Director Jim Gomes.

The event is free and open to the public.

Suzanne Bump

Bump is the 25th auditor of the Commonwealth and the first woman elected to the post.

Prior to taking office in 2011, she served in former Governor Deval Patrick’s cabinet as secretary of Labor and Workforce Development and represented the Town of Braintree for eight years in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.

In the private sector, she worked as a business advocate, legal counsel, and has sat on the boards of numerous nonprofit organizations including the South Shore Chamber of Commerce and St. Francis House.
