MA State Police Catch Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitive

Thursday, June 11, 2015

Early Wednesday morning, Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and Belchertown Police captured State Police Top Ten Most Wanted fugitive Keith Truehart.

As GoLocalWorcester reported last week, Truehart was wanted for causing serious injuries to a 9-month-old girl.

According to MSP, Truehart was located under a sink in his girlfriend's apartment in Belchertown in a makeshift hideout he made from wood and sheetrock.

Truehart was brought before Belchertown District Court to be arraigned on charges of Assault and Battery on a Child Causing Substantial Bodily Injury, Intimidation of a Witness, Assault and Battery, and Malicious Destruction of Property.

Last November, Belchertown Police responded to a call for a 9-month-old infant supposedly injured in a fall. A medical examination of the child's injuries revealed previous fractures of two ribs. Medical evidence indicated that the child's injuries were not accidental but had been inflicted by Truehart. Truehart later fled prior to response of police and paramedics.

Following numerous interviews and the search of several locations, MSP developed information that suggested Truehart was staying at his girlfriend's apartment. He was located there on Wednesday.
