Man Arrested After Robbing a Honey Farms in Worcester

Christopher Chase, 29, was arrested while in a red cab trying to get away from the area.
Chase was found in possession of money and cigarettes consistent with the items taken during the robbery.
The Incident
On Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 3:54 AM, Worcester Police responded to the Honey Farms located at 443 Park Ave for a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, police spoke with an employee of the store who said that a man had entered with his hands inside the front of his sweatshirt pocket. The man pointed something from inside his pocket at the clerk and demanded cash and cigarettes. The clerk was fearful that the he had a gun inside of his pocket and handed over cash and cigarettes. The suspect then left the store.
Witnesses on scene told police that the suspect was a white man, approximately 5’8, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a State Police logo and grey sweatpants. Police responding to the scene saw a red cab driving on May Street away from the location of the Honey Farms. Police contacted the cab company and were told that they had just picked up a man in the immediate vicinity of the Honey Farms.
A police officer working a paid detail saw the cab in question operating on Lincoln Street and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Police identified the passenger as Chase.
Chase matched the description of the robbery suspect provided by witnesses. Chase was detained, and a witness to the robbery was able to identify Chase as the man who committed the armed robbery.
He was placed under arrest and transported to the station for booking.
