Man Arrested Following Two Break-Ins in Worcester

Thursday, November 10, 2016

Worcester Police arrested a man linked to two break-ins after the man cut his hand on a piece of glass and called for an ambulance.

Angel Morales, 24, was charged with 2 counts of breaking and entering in the nighttime with the intent to commit a felony, 2 counts of larceny in a building, and 2 counts of malicious destruction of property over the value of $250.00.

The Arrest

On Monday, November 7, 2016 at approximately 4:00 a.m., Worcester Police responded to 21 Oread Street to help Worcester EMS on a medical call. Responding officers were told by police dispatchers that the caller asked for an ambulance, but that they did not want the police to respond. The caller said that the person needing medical assistance had a serious cut to their hand.

The victim, Morales, 24, of 21 Oread Street, told EMS personnel that he cut his hand on a window.

An officer at the scene immediately recognized Morales. The officer had recently responded to two commercial breaks hours earlier and the suspect was captured on security cameras. One of the scenes had a broken window with blood on the floor. Morales was the suspect captured in the breaks. Other evidence was recovered at the scene that linked Morales to the breaks.

Prior to being transported to the hospital the officer informed Morales about the evidence recovered. Morales was then informed that he was being placed under arrest for the breaks.
