Man Arrested for Breaking Into Car Outside Worcester Ice Rink

Thursday, February 01, 2018

A man was arrested after breaking into a car parked in the area of the Worcester Ice Rink on Harding Street.

Sergio Kristoff was charged with Trespassing, B&E to a Motor Vehicle, and Defacement of Property.

The Incident

On January 28 at about 8:30 a,m. Worcester Police were sent to the area of the Worcester Ice Rink at 112 Harding St for a report of a car break-in. Upon arrival, officers saw a car with the window smashed out.

They spoke with a witness who saw the break, and described the suspect, who he said was walking toward the bus hub.

Officers drove down Harding St and located a man, later identified as Sergio Kristoff, who matched the description given by the witness. When Kristoff saw the police car, he immediately reversed direction and started walking the other way.

He went onto the porch of a nearby building and tried to hide behind the brick pillar on the porch.

The porch had a “no trespassing” sign. Officers spoke with the property manager, who confirmed that no one was allowed on the porch.

Kristoff was placed under arrest for trespassing and transported to the police station. A search incident to arrest revealed multiple cell phones, a wallet, change, and a small amount of marijuana. After looking at the security cameras at the Worcester Ice Rink, officers saw Kristoff break the car window, enter the car, and then walk away.
