Man Arrested for Drug Distribution in Worcester

A man was arrested during a routine car stop on Main Street in Worcester for drug distribution.

Gregucci Poitevien, 24, for drug distribution and driving a car without a license.

The Incident

On Thursday, January 25,  A Worcester Police Officer, working out of the Operations Division, was on routine patrol in the Main South area. At approximately 2:36 a.m., the officer saw a white 2014 Toyota Camry traveling south on Main Street straying over the center line. Upon witnessing the infraction, the officer initiated a motor vehicle stop in front of 884 Main Street.

The officer approached the man and asked the driver for his license. The driver, later identified as Poitevien of 75 Purchase Street, stated that he did not have his license in his possession. The officer received other pertinent information and returned to his cruiser to check the license status.

The license came back with a suspended status. At this time the officer informed Poitevien that he was being placed under arrest and to exit the car.

Poitevien was placed under arrest without incident.

A search of Poitevien produced $548.00 in cash.

At this time the officer conducted a department policy inventory search of the car. The search produced 36 small individually wrapped plastic baggies that contained cocaine and 28 small individually wrapped plastic baggies that contained crack cocaine. Total weight of the recovered narcotics was 19.7 grams.

The officer seized the cash as an asset forfeiture and seized the drugs as evidence and sent out to an area lab for analysis.
