UPDATED: Man Arrested in Connection With Car Fire at Hope Cemetery, Victim Identified

UPDATE Wednesday 1:30 p.m.: The woman inside the burning car has been identified as Cynthia Webb, 59, of Sterling. 

A Northborough man has been arrested in connection with the car fire at Hope Cemetery in which the remains of Webb were found inside the car.

Steven Foley, 56, was arrested in Peabody on Tuesday evening and charged with burning a motor vehicle.

The investigation is still ongoing.

The Incident

As GoLocalWorcester reported, on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at approximately 8:30 a.m., Worcester Police were sent with the Worcester Fire Department for a report of a car on fire in Hope Cemetery.

Officers located a sedan in the rear of the cemetery engulfed in flames.

After the Worcester Fire Department extinguished the fire, officers discovered human remains inside the car. Members of the Crime Scene Unit and Detective Bureau were immediately called to the scene.
