Man Flees While Worcester Woman Arrested for Breaking into a Vehicle

Kayla Therrien, 24-year-old of 78 Waverly Street in Worcester was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property over the value of $250.00, carrying a dangerous weapon, and breaking and entering into a motor vehicle in the nighttime with the intent to commit a felony. 

The Incident 

The arrest comes after Worcester police responded to the area of Division Street for a report of a male and female walking down the street and pulling on door handles. 

Upon arrival, officers began to search the area and found a vehicle with its trunk open. Another officer came across a male suspect inside a white vehicle rummaging through the interior while a female was seen standing next to the car. 

The suspect observed the officer approaching and ran from the scene. A foot chase ensued and saw the male suspect get away. 

The female suspect, who identified herself as Therrien, stated that the vehicle belonged to her friend but could not provide the name of the owner when asked.

A search of Therrien produced credit cards that had other people's names listed along with store reward cards, a large amount of change, a GPS and other electronic devices and a spring loaded pocket knife. 

The owner of the vehicle was at the scene and stated to the officers that Therrien is not known to them. 

Officers continued to search the area for the male suspect but came back with negative results. 

Therrien will be arraigned on Tuesday at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
