The investigation is ongoing.
The Incident
On Thursday, December 8, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Worcester Police responded to the area of 63 Plantation Street for a report of an assault with a dangerous weapon. Police were notified through dispatch that there was a fight in the street between approximately four individuals, and that it appeared one man had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, police met with a 27-year-old man. As police walked over to speak with him, he walked away from them. Due to the nature of the call, police again requested to speak with him. As police got closer to the victim, they saw that he was bleeding from a laceration behind his ear.
During conversation with the officer, the victim continually refused medical attention and refused to provide any information to officers regarding the fight or how he obtained his injury. Police at the scene were eventually able to determine that the man was hit in the head with a metal pipe multiple times by an unknown suspect(s).
The victim refused to provide additional information and continually reiterated that he did not want the police involved.
