Man Seriously Injured Following Car Crash in Worcester

Monday, November 28, 2016

A man was seriously injured after he crashed his car into a light pole and then a tree on Country Club Boulevard in Worcester early Saturday morning.

The man, 51, of Holden was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries to his left hip, left leg along with his chest and head.

This investigation is ongoing. No citations have been issued at this time.

The Incident

On Saturday, November 26, at approximately 2:33 a.m., Worcester Police responded to Country Club Boulevard for a report of a single car crash. Upon the officer's arrival, they came upon the driver of the 2004 Nissan. The driver, a 51-year-old Holden man, was outside the vehicle sitting down and suffering from serious injuries. The vehicle had extensive front-end damage.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The victim went into emergency surgery shortly after arrival in the emergency room.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the Nissan was traveling northbound on CCBLVD when the car veered across the solid double line and struck a light pole on the southbound side of the road. The Nissan then struck a tree.

Members of the WPD Crash Recon Team processed evidence and conducted interviews.

The operator was unable to be interviewed due to his medical treatment.
