Man Stabbed in Arm Following a Fight in Worcester

The stabbing happened after the suspect wrongly accused the victim of being involved in a fight with a woman earlier in the night.
The stabbing victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injury.
At this time, Detectives are actively working to identify the suspect involved.
The Incident
On January 23, at 7:20 p.m., Worcester Police called out with a 51-year-old man who had just been stabbed in the area of the Shell Gas station on Madison Street. The officer saw the man suffering from a stab wound to his arm. Several officers arrived on scene along with members of the Detective Bureau.
The initial investigation showed that a woman was sitting in a car at the gas station while a man was pumping gas. Police were told that a suspect approached the woman and engaged her in a fight. The suspect then spit in the woman’s face before leaving the scene in a car.
The 51-year-old man was walking in close proximity to the gas station during this time.
Thinking that the victim was involved with the woman from the fight, the suspect stopped his car and confronted the victim. The victim told the suspect that he was not associated with the woman from earlier, at which time the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the arm.
