Man Stabbed in Arm During Robbery Attempt in Worcester

Josue Medina, 37, of Worcester was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after stabbing a man in the upper arm in the area of Compare Foods on Main Street on Sunday Night.

The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The Incident

On Sunday, September 4, 2016 at 11:00 PM, Worcester Police responded to the area of Compare Foods on Main Street for a report that man that had been stabbed. Prior to arriving, police were told that the victim was now in the area of Kirsch Liquors. Police were also given a description of the suspect and informed that the suspect was currently walking up Sycamore Street from Main Street.

Multiple officers responded to the area of Kirsch Liquors and located a 44 year old man suffering from a stab wound to the upper arm. Police were told that a male suspect had confronted the victim in the area of Compare Foods on Main Street. The suspect attempted to rob the victim, and during the altercation, the victim was stabbed in the upper arm.

While officers were speaking with the victim, other officers searched for the suspect in the area of Sycamore Street. While in the area, officers observed a group of males walking together. One of the men matched the description of the suspect. Officers stopped the group of men and identified the suspect as Josue Medina. A witness was able to positively identify Medina as the man who had stabbed the victim.

Medina was placed under arrest.
