Man Stabbed in Face During Fight in Worcester

A man was stabbed in the face during a fight on Main Street in Worcester and suffered minor injuries.

Police are trying to establish a motive for this incident. At this time investigators believe that this was not an attempted robbery.

There is little suspect information, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Incident

On Saturday, January 21, at approximately 9:34 p.m., Worcester Police responded to a Jacques Avenue address for a reported stabbing. Upon the officers arrival they met with a 27-year-old man.

According to the victim, he was walking in the area of 817 Main Street when he was approached by a another man. The suspect engaged the victim in a fight. During the fight the suspect produced a knife and cut the victim on his face, just under his eye. The victim fell to the ground. While on the ground the suspect started to kick the victim in his torso. After the attack the suspect left the scene.

The victim told the officers that he had lost consciousness after being punched in the face. He was complaining of abdominal pain. Worcester EMS arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment.

While at the hospital members of the WPD detective bureau arrived and interviewed the victim. The victim had little suspect information to provide.
