NEW: Boston Mobster Whitey Bulger Killed in Prison

He was 89 years old.
According to reports, Bulger had been moved to a high-security prison in West Virginia named USP Hazelton.
Prior to that, Bulger had recently been moved from a prison in Florida to a transfer facility in Oklahoma City.
He was serving a life sentence after being convicted of a series of crimes in 2013, including participating in 11 murders.
Prior to his conviction, he was one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitive for 16 years until he was arrested in Santa Monica, California in 2011.
Bulger in Prison
On June 22, 2011, Bulger, 81, was arrested outside an apartment in Santa Monica, California along with his long-time girlfriend Catherine Greig.
Two years later, on June 12, 2013, Bulger went on trial for 32 counts of racketeering, money laundering, extortion, and weapons charges, including complicity in nineteen murders.
One month later, on August 12 Bulger was found guilty on 31 counts, including both racketeering charges, and was found to have been involved in eleven murders.
On November 14, he was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences plus five years for his crimes by U.S. District Judge Denise Casper.
