NEW: Gov. Patrick’s Daughter Hospitalized

Tuesday, May 08, 2012

Gov. Deval Patrick’s oldest daughter, Sarah, is in the hospital Tuesday after becoming ill while eating out Monday night.

She was resting comfortably after tests came back normal and was scheduled to stay in the hospital overnight, according to Brendan Ryan, the Governor's communications director.

The 26-year-old became disoriented while at dinner with her sister, Katherine, according to a statement from the governor’s press office. Patrick cleared his schedule Tuesday so he and his wife could be with their daughter. According to Ryan, Patrick would remain with his daughter on Wednesday and return to work Thursday.

"He and his family appreciate all of the well wishes they have received today," Ryan said in a statement.
