Worcester's WSRS morning co-host Heidi West has resigned effective Monday, August 5.
She had been working with Greg Byrne on the morning show that began in March of last year.
"It was an honor to be on the legendary WSRS- I'm proud of what we accomplisted there. I always like to keep growing and I look forward to my next radio opportunity," said Heidi West in a comment to GoLocalWorcester.
Favorite memories
The picture to the right shows one of the more memorable moments in the show's history. A Southbridge boy named Steven Howe's dying wish was to meet Steven Tyler. Heidi and her partner Greg made his dream come true when Tyler surprised him on air.
"It was the hi-lite of my time spent at WSRS," said West.
The station broadcasts on 96.1 FM, is licensed out of Worcester, and is owned by Clear Channel Communications. WSRS offers an adult contemporary music format focusing on the hits of the 1980s and 1990s. It also occassionally mixes in 60s and 70s music, talk, and current product as well.
