NEW: MA Delegation Welcome Stanley Cup to U.S. Capitol

Wednesday, February 29, 2012

It's been more than 8 months since the Bruins won the Stanley Cup and now the most recognized trophy in North American sports has made its way to Washington. Senators John Kerry and Scott Brown, along with Congressmen Niki Tsongas, Stephen Lynch, Michael Capuano, Jim McGovern, and William Keating, today welcomed the Stanley Cup to the U.S. Capitol in honor of the Boston Bruins’ 2011 Stanley Cup victory.

Senator Kerry hosted a breakfast in the U.S. Capitol with Massachusetts’ own Dunkin Donuts and coffee to celebrate the Cup’s official visit to the Capitol. The Cup will visit Senator Kerry’s personal office today and will be on display for photos this afternoon at a reception for New England delegation members and staff in the Senator’s Foreign Relations Committee hearing room.
