NEW: Norfolk DA Releases Names of Protesters Arrested for Blocking I-93
Friday, January 16, 2015
“We know of at least one elderly crash victim who could not be transported to the Level 1 Trauma Center his injury demanded because this road was illegally blockaded,” said Morrissey. "The disregard for the safety and welfare of innocent citizens that this action manifests is shocking.”
The media release states that some of the protesters were chained to barrels full of concrete, "thereby blocking access to all area Level 1 Trauma Centers for the entire South Shore and blocking the commute for thousands." All eleven have pled not guilty to charges below. They were released on their own recognizance. They are to return on April 9 for pre-trial hearing.
A seperate list of protesters that were blocking I-93 South will be released shortly.
