NEW: Severe Thunderstorm Watch For Central Mass. Until 10PM

Worcester County continues to be part of a Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued by the National Weather Service, continuing until at least 10pm tonight.

In addition to the Thunderstorm Watch, the NWS has also issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Central Massachusetts with the following details:

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...
...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 544 IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...

BRIEF HEAVY RAINFALL AND EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS WILL RESULT IN
NUISANCE POOR DRAINAGE STREET FLOODING THIS EVENING. THIS WILL
RESULT IN SOME SHORT FUSED FLOOD ADVISORIES.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WINDS...SOUTH 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH.

* LOCATION...MOST OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND EXCEPT FOR THE SOUTH
COAST.

* TIMING...STRONGEST WINDS THROUGH EARLY EVENING. SOME STRONGER
GUSTS POSSIBLE AS A LINE OF HEAVY SHOWERS AND ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS MOVES THROUGH.

* IMPACTS...WINDS OF THIS MAGNITUDE MAY DOWN BRANCHES OR SMALL
TREES. SOME POWER OUTAGES ARE POSSIBLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE
31 TO 39 MPH OR GUSTS WILL RANGE BETWEEN 46 AND 57 MPH. WINDS
THIS STRONG ARE CAPABLE OF DOWNING SMALL TREE LIMBS AND
BRANCHES...POSSIBLY CAUSING ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES. DRIVING CAN
ALSO BE DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.
