NEW: Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Worcester County

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Southern Worcester County until 3 pm Wednesday.  A severe thunderstorm warning for all of Worcester County has been issued until 9 pm.  

The anticipated storm is expected to produce quarter sized hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour.  Very heavy rain and flash floods are predicted.  

Affected towns include Charlton, Southbridge, Dudley, Webster, Oxford, Auburn, Douglas, Sutton,  Northbridge, Upton and Uxbridge.

Precautions

Precautionary measures to take:

  • Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business
  • Do not drive into areas where water covers the road.
