NEW: Worcester State Closed Friday-Sunday Ahead of Blizzard

Thursday, February 07, 2013

With up to two feet of snow in the forecast for tomorrow into Saturday, officials at Worcester State University aren't taking any chances when it comes to staying safe during the upcoming blizzard.

The school issued an alert Thursday that all classes and activities are cancelled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, February 8-10. The WSU campus will be closed, and all academic buildings and the gym will be locked.

The Blizzard Watch has been extended westward by the National Weather Service to now include Central and Eastern Connecticut and Central Massachusetts and eastward to include Cape Cod and the Islands. The Blizzard Watch continues posted for Rhode Island and the rest of Eastern Massachusetts.
