North High Teacher Starts Fundraiser to Feed Students Breakfast Before MCAS

Monday, March 23, 2015

Matt Baldwin, a teacher at North High School, has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to provide breakfast to sophomores on mornings before they take their MCAS exam.

Baldwin is trying to raise $1,500 for his 10th grade students so they can eat breakfast prior to their Math MCAS assessment in May.

Baldwin wrote this on his GoFundMe page:

"Exercise and nutrition are key to a student's success, especially on test day.  This May, another group of 10th grade students will be taking the Math MCAS state assessment. I'd like to be able to ensure that all of our students have the opportunity to eat a hearty breakfast on these test days.  Many of our students eat a breakfast provided by the school system, so this change of pace will be something to look forward to thats just as nourishing and that rewards them for all the hard work they've put into their math classes up to this point."

As of Sunday afternoon, Baldwin had already raised $205 in just two days.
