Two men were transported to the hospital early on Sunday morning after they were injured in a home invasion.
Police responded to reports of a home invasion at a Puritan Avenue Address at 1:28 a.m. on October 4. When they arrived, they found two victims, one, a 46-year-old male, was suffering from head injuries after being pistol whipped, while the other, a 42-year-old male, was suffering from a stab wound, a broken leg and a shoulder injury.
The victims, who were both awake and alert when police responded, told officers two men broke into the home, one armed with a handgun and the other with a knife. The suspects attacked the two victims and ransacked the home, demanding money.
There was also a 2-year-old girl sleeping in her room during the home invasion. She was unhurt during the incident and unaware it had occured, but was transported to a local hospital for precautionary measures.
A pit bull at the home was reportedly stabbed during the incident, ran away from the home and has not returned.
The victims told police that the home invasion happened roughly an hour before they called the police, but did not explain their delay.
The suspects are described only as white men, and a motive has yet to be established.
