Plane Crash Drill to Be Held at Worcester Airport on Tuesday

Tuesday, October 06, 2015

On Tuesday morning, the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) will be conducting an emergency response drill with a plane crash scenario at the Worcester Regional Airport.

Along with Massport, other organizations involved in the drill include the Worcester Fire Department and Police Department, Leicester Fire and Police, Massachusetts State Police, Red Cross, FBI and the FAA.

The drill, which is required every three years by the FAA, will test the coordination, communication and response time in the event of a plane crash at Worcester's airport. It begins at 8:30 AM on Tuesday.

The airport will remain open while the drill is taking place.
