Report Confirms Body Found In Sterling is Jeremiah Oliver

Saturday, April 19, 2014

Jeremiah Oliver

The child’s body found yesterday in Sterling off Route 190 has been positively identified as Jeremiah Oliver, this missing five year old boy from Fitchburg, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

Oliver’s body was found yesterday afternoon by authorities, wrapped in a blanket and packed in a suitcase or duffle bag.

The child’s disappearance has lead to much controversy and scrutiny of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families because when Oliver initially went missing, DCF officials admitted to not having a case worker make regular visits.

Jeremiah Oliver had been missing since September but authorities had not known of his disappearance until December.

The autopsy report is not complete. According to officials, no other information about the case will be released at this time.
