Clark University students received an email this morning from campus police alerting them to a van driving around at neighboring Worcester Polytechnic Institute posing as a WPI escort. Below is the email from Clark University Police Chief, Steve Goulet:

Subject: White Econoline Van With Red Stripe on the Side

We have a report from WPI Police that a van was in their area yesterday afternoon, March 15th, asking students if they needed a ride and passing themselves off as WPI escort.
They are not affiliated with WPI’s safety escort service.

Description of van involved: White Econoline Van with Red Stripe on Side with plate number LV57672
2 male occupants

Please if you observe this van immediately notify University Police at 508-793-7575. Do not approach this vehicle if observed.
Student Safety Escort Service (SSES) at Clark University utilizes vans that are clearly marked as such as well as having yellow lights on the tops
of the vehicles.
