Sen. Moore Announces Dates for 80th Citizens’ Legislative Seminar
Friday, December 08, 2017
The seminar will take place on Tuesday, March 27 on Wednesday, March 28.
“This program provides an exciting opportunity for residents to gain a firsthand perspective about what it’s like to serve in the Senate. Participants debate legislation and meet with Senators and staff to learn more about the legislative process and day-to-day life on Beacon Hill. Past participants from our area have found the program to be both informative and enjoyable,” said Moore.
The Seminar
The seminar is a program that aims to better educate the public on the Commonwealth’s legislative process.
Established in 1976 through a collaborative effort of the Massachusetts Senate and the University of Massachusetts, this two-day seminar features presentations by Senators and staff on aspects of the day-to-day experience of legislators in the Commonwealth.
Topics will include the history and process of the Legislature, and the parliamentary role of the Clerk of the Senate.
