Sheriff Evangelidis Promotes 2 Officers to Captain

Worcester County Sheriff Lew Evangelidis has announced the promotion of Lieutenant Keith Hamilton and Lieutenant Kieth Roberge to the rank of Captain.

"The Worcester County Sheriff's Office is pleased to announce the promotions of Lieutenant Keith Hamilton and Lieutenant Keith Roberge to the rank of Captain. Captains Hamilton and Roberge will immediately begin serving in this important role and leadership position at our correctional facility. All promotions at the Worcester County Sheriff's Office are based on merit, work ethic and a dedication to duty. Congratulations to our new Captains as they represent the best in the field of corrections today and will work hard to make us a better department," said Evangelidis.

Both Captains will be responsible for commanding and supervising lieutenants, sergeants, correctional officers and staff under their charge as well as monitoring the care, custody, and control of inmate activity ensuring the safety of both staff and inmates.  

The Promotions

Hamilton, an eighteen year veteran of the department, started his career with the Worcester County Sheriff's Office in May of 2000, was promoted to Sergeant in January of 2015, Lieutenant in 2017 and most recently to Captain.  He is also a member of the Special Operations Group, Honor Guard and serves as a Firearms and Defense Tactics Instructor.  Lieutenant Hamilton was assigned to the Training Department and will now serve as a Captain in the mail jail.   

Roberge, a fourteen year veteran of the Worcester County Sheriff's Office began his career in July of 2004, was promoted to Sergeant in June of 2013, Lieutenant in 2015 and most recently to Captain.  He was previously assigned to the main jail and will now serve as a Captain in the modular units.
