Not all neighborhoods are created equal in Worcester when it comes to finding a place of worship. Find The Best found the parts of Worcester that are the most and least religious, based on the number of religious organizations per capita.

The Central Business District is rich in religious organizations, with 68.2 places of worship per 10,000 people. Green Island comes in second place with 56 places of worship per 10,000.

Beaver Brook and Hamilton are the least religious, with no religious organizations.

Find the Best also found the most prevalent kinds of places of worship. The winner? There are 41 Christian (Miscellaneous) churches in the city, followed by 36 Catholic churches and 26 Baptist churches.

Overall, there are 18.6 places of worship per 10,000 residents in Worcester and 11.4 places of worship per 10,000 residents in Massachusetts.

The national average is 19.1 places of worship per 10,000 residents.
