The Votes Are In: Worcester’s 2015 Preliminary Election Results

The city of Worcester nearly set a record for low turnout with only 11% of registered voters in the city participating in the preliminary election. More than 10,000 votes were casted for the 16 candidates in the running.
Here are the results from the top twelve vote-getters in the election:

- Kate Toomey - 4,096
- Michael Gaffney - 3,830
- Moe Bergman - 3,756
- Matt Wally - 3,318
- Juan Gomez - 3,272
- Rob Sargent - 2, 081
- Khrystian King - 2,570
- Tina Zlody - 2,425
- Phil Palmieri - 2,075
- William Coleman III - 2,071
Linda Parham (1,889), Carmen Carmona (1,341), Ron O'Clair (581) and George Fox (339) all finished outside of the top twelve and will not be on November's ballot.
September 15 will be the last day for candidates to decline nomination for election to Mayor or Council.
The Municipal election will be held on Tuesday, November 3. Polls will be open from 7 AM to 8 PM. The last day to register to vote is October 14.
