Three-Year-Old Boy Dies After Being Struck by Car in Worcester

A three-year-old boy passed away after he was struck by a car while riding his bike in the area of 11 Laurel Street on Sunday afternoon. 

The incident is still under investigation and no citations or criminal charges were filed.

The Incident

On August 19 at about 2:45 p.m., Worcester Police were sent to the area of 11 Laurel St for a report of a child struck by a car. Upon arrival, officers spoke with witnesses and secured the scene of the accident. They were told that the victim had been driven to the hospital.

Officers went to the hospital and were told that the three-year-old boy had passed away.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the young boy was riding a Huffy bike on the sidewalk near 15 Laurel St. He left the sidewalk and entered the parking lot of 15 Laurel St when a Nissan Armada pulled out of a parking spot and struck the bicycle with the front of the vehicle. After striking the boy, the operator of the Nissan Armada drove the victim and the victim’s father to the hospital.

The incident is still under investigation.

At this time, there are no citations or criminal charges.
